Monumental and Calvary Baptist Churches united Aug. 30 for The Men’s Day Gospel Concert at Monumental Baptist Church in the Hill District to a near capacity crowd. The male chorus from each church combined as well as some of the other choirs. Even though it was men’s day several women also participated in the program as singers and speakers, as did the women come out in support in the congregation.

Bible characters
SEPT. 18—Morningside COGIC, 5173 Dearborn St., Morningside, will host the Characters of the Bible at 7 p.m. The first one will be characters of the Old Testament and on Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. there will be a discussion of the characters in the New Testament.
