P. Diddy is well known for his Hampton white party each year. Invited guests are told to wear white and there have been reports that non-white wearing guests have been sent packing if they showed up in the wrong shade of pale.

On Aug. 22 at the chic Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Shadyside, The Stylearbiter.com and Styles by Fredrick LaMont presented “Summer Blues: An Oasis of High Style.” Ladies and gents showed up and showed out in wonderful shades of blue for one of the last soirees of the summer.
There were best in blue awards for males and females and a runway show with a select group of models who walked in fashions from Linton’s at the Waterfront, MODA of Shadyside and Patricia Boutique in Aspinwall. There were beautiful shades of blue intertwined into the show that featured some of the latest ensembles for fall and winter.
Before viewing the styles modeled by Miyoshi, Kristin, Robyn, Mary Grace, Lesheem and Justin, guests enjoyed a refreshing blue punch and hors d’oeuvres by Tallulah’s. There was even time to take in the wonderful art exhibits displayed at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
This unique, first-time event was hosted by LaMont Jones Jr. and Damiko Faulkner. Jones says he has been thinking of doing a color-themed event for quite a while. “White has been done; it was time for something new.”
Jones went on to say Summer Blues was designed to raise awareness of the recently unveiled website www.TheStyleArbiter.com and to benefit the Uzel Finney Scholarship Fund. Reports from the exit polls say this should be an annual event. Get your blue outfit ready.
Spotted in blue: Michelle Alexander, Eric Gaines, Mike Rue, Chris Moore, Joyce Meggerson Moore, Tracy Edmunds, Janis Burley Wilson, Ira and Doll Ritter, Monica Haynes, Emma Darby, Natisha Frye, Michelle Thompson, Kemo Crawford, Anna Thorpe, Delores Williams and Ola Jackson.
