Ask Gwendolyn…I’m thinking about canceling our marriage!

(NNPA)—Dear Gwendolyn:

Last year I asked my girlfriend to marry me.  She was so excited.  When we first met, she was a work of class, highly intelligent all the way. She was of a quiet nature and was getting her master’s degree in business management.

After dating for two years, the wedding plans were on. However, there is a side of her she never showed.  She went from being quiet and shy to quacking like a duck nonstop.  Her talking is about to drive me up a wall. I feel I am about to reach the ceiling with bad nerves.

Gwendolyn, what do you think I should do?  Immediately after I asked her hand in marriage, she changed.—Phillip

Dear  Phillip:

Congratulations for moving toward the world of marriage.  These days men just want to become a woman’s “live-in”’ bachelor—never having a plan to marry. Although your heart is in the right place, the impairment of your nervous system is shattered.

Let me tell you this:  Your fiancee is good, real good. It is obvious she did not show her true personality. She was only faking being quiet and shy. I suggest you postpone the wedding and explain to her about the change you apparently may not be able to deal with. If you can’t get her to shut her mouth at this engagement stage, you can kiss peace and quietness goodbye. Phillip, if you think the situation is bad now, man, you won’t experience the meaning of bad—until after the wedding.
