Pastoral appreciation

DEC. 11—Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Second Street Extension, West Newton, will host their 6th Pastoral Anniversary Appreciation Weekend at 7 p.m. This is the anniversary of Pastor Rev. Eileen O. Smith. The guest preacher will be Pastor Maurice Trent of Lighthouse Cathedral in Mt. Oliver, along with his congregation, praise team and dancers. There will also be a service on Dec. 13 at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Charles Wade and Spiritual Poet David Jones, followed by a 3:30 p.m. service with Pastor Stacey Taylor and more. Night chaser

DEC. 11—The Brown Chapel Heir Force will host “Night Chaser” at 7:30 p.m. at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square East, North Side. This is a multimedia Christmas experience for the whole family. It is a story about a family who receives a video game as a gift. The game draws them into an adventure that requires them to show courage and responsibility. It includes the Hill Dance Academy Theater, Artistree and more. Tickets are $5-$10. Cookie sale

DEC. 12—Wayman Chapel AME Church, 1120 6th Ave., New Brighton, will host their annual Cookie Sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Dance recital

DEC. 12—The Agapé Sisters and the Fine Arts Ministries of Mount Olive Baptist Church, 330 Fourth St., Rankin, will host a Liturgical Dance Recital at 6 p.m. The guests include Exaltation and The Book of Psalms led by Janet Curry and Stacey Crawford, the Spiritual Dance Company. Joyful noise

DEC. 12—The New Horizon Theater Inc. will host “Make a Joyful Noise” at 7:30 p.m. at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This concert fundraiser will feature pianist, vocalist and composer, J’Aira Pryor. Other performers include Spirit Mime Ministry, Rev. Leslie Boone, Anthony “Crunk” Crunkleton and more. Pastoral anniversary

DEC. 13—Corinthian Baptist Church, 2037 Forbes Ave., Downtown, will host the 31st Pastor Anniversary of Rev. Christopher Glover at 10 a.m. He is celebrating 31 years as head of the church and 35 years in the ministry. The guest preacher will be Rev. Christine Glover Wimberly and the C.
