Nativity
The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Africana Studies presents “Nativity: A Christmas Gift” at 8 p.m. at Alumni Hall, 7th floor Auditorium, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The performance will feature the Shona Sharif African Dance and Drum Ensemble and is inspired by Langston Hughes’ “Black Nativity,” the show explores the Christmas season through traditional West African dance and 20th century gospel music. Christmas concert
Gene Stovall presents his 4th Annual Christmas Concert at 11 p.m. at the Hard Rock Café, 230 W. Station Square, Station Square. Gene Stovall brings his unique blend of Indie Soul and holiday cheer for this late night concert that will put one in the Christmas spirit. Special performances include Clyde Warren, Dawn Evans, J Steez and modern dance performances by Pittsburgh choreographers. Must be 21 and older to attend. Holiday concert
Allegheny County presents its 42nd Annual Holiday Choral Program from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Grand Staircase of the Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grants St., Downtown. The featured choir will be the Perry Traditional Academy Jazz Band and Choir. Each concert will feature a different school band or choir and will be broadcasted outside on the Grant Street side of the Courthouse. The concert is free and will run through Dec. 21.
