“My mouth literally dropped open when my friend, Valerie Dixon, told me yesterday what happened to Cookie only hours after I had left her. Wow! You just never know. She seemed like such a positive and good spirited person. I’m sorry that I did not get the opportunity to know her better. Love the people in your circle. Don’t take them for granted,” Tim Stevens said.

“Cookie was very proud of the atmosphere she and her staff had created. They were proud that they had a place in Homewood people could feel comfortable to come to. She proudly stated that people had stopped by from various cities and states,” said Stevens.

“Every time I hear the song, ‘I’ve Got The Power,’ I will be reminded of Cookie, her essence, and her love of life and know that with God in her life, she truly had the power.

“I am still in shock, because she was so young and I thought she had so much life in her. Let this be a wake up call for all of us. Life expectancy is not determined by our age or our occupation. When our Father calls for us to come home, we have no choice but to listen to his call.  Cherish your moments of life, because once your time is up, you can’t buy, beg or do anything to get your time or your life back. May Cookie rest in peace. She will be missed by many. Life is just a moment then we move on,” said Rosie Jones Moore.

“My memories of Cookie, she was always smiling and in a cheerful mood.  Cookie was a very spiritual person and close to the Lord. Being as spiritually grounded as she was in our Heavenly Father, I know that she is definitely in good hands, however, my heart goes out to the children (Erik and Lexus).
