Behind Our Scenes
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s SPACE Gallery presents Behind Our Scenes from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at 812 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. This is an exhibit that showcases works from those whose job it is to present artwork for the Pittsburgh community. Pittsburgh’s thriving art scene is unique and creative. By looking deeper, one will find that many of the people working “behind the scenes” form their own artistic community—working artists who spend much of their time and energy promoting the artwork of others. The goal for Behind Our Scenes is to give the artists working “backstage” the opportunity to showcase their work and to celebrate and further unite Pittsburgh’s arts community. Cirque Dreams
PNC Broadway Across America presents Cirque Dreams: Illumination at 8 p.m. at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave., Cultural District. Audiences of all ages will enjoy as city dwellers reinvent familiar objects, balance on wires, leap tall buildings and redefine the risks of flight in a story filled with astounding occurrences. One of a kind artists populate the streets of this magical metropolis and breathe energy into its landscape with urban acrobatics and never before seen phenomenal thrills of disbelief.
