JAN. 6—The YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host their Financial Empowerment Series from 6:30-8 p.m. at the YWCA Homewood-Brushton location, 6907 Frankstown Rd., Homewood. Every Wednesday from now through Jan. 27, this interactive series of four workshops is designed to correct unhealthy financial habits and help consumers gain control of their financial lives. The workshop will cover various topics such as Making the Commitment-Budgeting; Using Banks and Credit Unions; Credit and Credit Repair; and Saving and Investing. This workshop is for women interested in starting their own business or expanding their current one. Industry experts will discuss business planning, financing, marketing and legal issues. This session will also explain how one can become personally involved in understanding their credit report and turn less than perfect credit into the solid credit scores one deserves.
