When Hannah Webb came up with the idea of having a fashion show to help with breast cancer research, she never dreamed she’d be holding the show for five years but she held her fifth show in recently and is in the process of planning the sixth.
“I never thought we’d be having fashion shows this long,” said Webb, owner of Selections by Genea & Eric, a one-of-a kind clothing boutique in Clairton.

Webb came up with the idea to give annual fashion shows in 2004 after her sister and mother-in-law died from the disease. When she was diagnosed with the disease right before holding the second show, she almost gave up the idea of having the shows.
With the help of her family, the show went on.
Now in its fifth year, it’s an event that people look forward to attending.
This year’s show featured The Smoke Band who provided soulful music throughout the show, a tribute to the late Michael Jackson performed by the multi-talented Malcolm Williams and of course unique fashions, jewelry and accessories.
Partial proceeds from the show were given to UPMC at Jefferson Regional Medical Center to help find a cure for breast cancer.
“We’re trying hard to help demolish this disease,” Webb said. “The show was a hit and it left people wanting to come back next year, which I think is a great thing.”
Webb and her family are gearing up for 2010’s show.
