Out & About with Brotha Ash at the Mardi Gras

This week I visited the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood, CJ’s in the Strip District, Club Heat in the Strip District, Phase III in Homewood and Billy’s Gold Door in Homewood.

My first stop was at Phase III in Homewood where everyone came out to the event called “Party With The Ques!” This was the first night of the Mardi Gras event that is held every year. This fraternity really knows how to get their party and drink on.

My next stop was at the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum where the Iota Phi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. presented the annual Omega Mardi Gras Quesino Royale 2010 featuring CirQue De Omega. The whole city of Pittsburgh was there and this event is always packed with people from all over.

My next stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District with DJ Nick Nice on the 1’s and 2’s. People were so happy to be out again that this place was filled to capacity and had a big line outside to get in. Come check CJ’s out every week. You won’t regret it.

My next stop was Billy’s Gold Door in Homewood where Jeff from the New Pittsburgh Courier was celebrating his birthday in grand style with family and friends. I’m glad you had a great time, Jeff, and may you have many more.

My final destination was at Club Heat in the Strip District where B. Marshall Productions presented The Official Blueprint 3 Tour CTE/Rocafella Records After Party with DJ Farenheit (Young Jeezy’s DJ) and Memphis Bleek. The good news is that DJ Fahrenheit did show up, but Memphis Bleek did not. At least B. Marshall Productions knows that when you want coverage by the New Pittsburgh Courier, you do not have us pay at the door and my name is always on the list at his events.

I wanted to cover the other event where Jay-Z showed up in Station Square, but they wanted me to pay when I arrived and they did not have my name on the list at the door as promised. I was told that my name was going to be on the list so I wasted my time and gas going over there for nothing because there was no list and the organizer was nowhere to be found. I guess they did not want the only Black newspaper in town to cover their event. Oh well, maybe next time they will have us on the list for their next event. We’ll see what happens.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to community. Send all your party and event information to info@BrothaAshProductions.com and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT!!
