A national presenter and trainer with an expertise in diversity and inclusion—Dina L. Clark—has been named the new director of the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Center for Race and Gender Equity.

Prior to her appointment for the YWCA, Clark served as the first executive director of the Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative, a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting regional economic growth by providing resources to employers in the greater Pittsburgh region to attract, hire and retain employees from a variety of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Previously, Clark served as regional education project director for the Anti-Defamation League, which serves Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia. Based in Pittsburgh, she worked to provide educational resources and anti-bias training for school administrators, teachers and students, as well as colleges and universities, community-based organizations and corporations.
Clark holds a degree in psychology and child and family studies from Syracuse University and is a certified trainer through the Pennsylvania Pathways Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System. She currently serves on numerous boards, councils and committees for local organizations, including Allegheny Regional Asset District; Anti-Defamation League; Sustainable Pittsburgh; WQED Multimedia; Robert Morris University; and Community College of Allegheny County.

Jensen, CEO, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. “She will be a great asset to our senior management team as we redefine and expand our Center for Race and Gender Equity.”
In 1996, the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh created the YWCA Center for Race Relations in the North Hills, the first YWCA center, a first for the YWCA community. In 2007, the center staff moved to the YWCA headquarters Downtown because of structural problems with the building. The center was renamed the Office of Racial Diversity and Inclusion. Following a strategic planning process conducted with the YWCA’s board of directors and staff, the office has once again undergone a title change along with a redefined focus and identified responsibilities.
ORDI is now renamed the Center for Race and Gender Equity.
As director of the center, Clark will develop and implement strategies and/or programs that address individual and systemic racism and gender inequity. She will serve as the association’s lead for advocacy and research efforts, maintaining research data and information regarding race and gender issues. She will also develop a comprehensive posting on the YWCA’s website of local resources for women and girls at all stages of their lives.
