Out & About with Brotha Ash

This week I visited the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead, CJ’s in the Strip District, the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood, the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, St. Benedict The Moor Hall in the Hill District and Calvary Baptist Church in the Hill District.

My first stop was at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead where Thomas Miles, aka Nephew Tommy, performed live on stage for his fans along with Keisha Hunt, Dominique and Sonya D. If you missed it, the show was hilarious, with laughter all through the evening.

My next stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District. DJ Nick Nice was on the 1’s and 2’s spinning the oldies but goodies and giving the crowd a workout on the dance floor. My family came out and had a great time as well. Shout out to Lenny, Melba, Speedy and Martell.

My next stop was the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum where the City Sharkers held their annual event. It was a great turnout and it was good to see a lot of familiar faces in the place. Everyone had on their red and black and represented in grand style.

My next stop was the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty where Stretch held an event called the Boom Bapp Effect featuring local hip-hop artists on stage during an open mic event. Everyone came out to get their shine on and party the night away.

My next stop was St. Benedict The Moor Hall in the Hill District where the Steel City Ladies held their event and gave away prizes and had the whole city come out to support. It was a great time for everyone.

My final destination was at Calvary Baptist Church in the Hill District where the Sunshine Group held their annual event featuring Abraham and his band, the men’s mime group and the Calvary Baptist Male Chorus. This was a musical event that was not to be missed.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Send all your party and event information to [email protected] and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT!
