Missing teen
Nearly a month after he was reported missing, authorities are still looking for Rodnell Burton, a 17-year-old Black male from Homewood. He was last seen driving a 2000 White Chrysler Sebring, when he went to drop off his girlfriend at her home in Plum Borough on March 28.
Although Burton has left home before, his mother told authorities she always had an idea of his whereabouts.
Burton is described as 5-4, 130 pounds and driving a vehicle with a Pennsylvania license plate with HJX-9029.

Real estate grant
The Wilkinsburg Community Development Corp. received a $10,000 grant from the PNC Foundation to assist in identifying vacant buildings and storefronts in the Wilkinsburg Business District. The grant will matched with funding from Tri State Capital Bank and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
Once the vacant buildings are located, the corporation will assist property owners in marketing the buildings to be sold or rented.
“PNC has been an important community partner in our effort to revitalize Wilkinsburg. We are grateful for their continued support,” said Wilkinsburg Mayor John A. Thompson and the president of the development corporation in a press release.
By selling or renting the property, the corporation hopes to encourage the productive reuse of properties in the downtown area. There have already been properties identified as part of this effort.
Applications accepted
The Pittsburgh Jazz Society is now accepting applications for their 2010 Pittsburgh Jazz Society/BNY Mellon Scholarship. The scholarship is open to undergraduate students living in the Pittsburgh area who will be enrolled in a four-year college or university and who has a love for music.
“As a result of our partnership with BNY Mellon on the PJS/BNY Mellon Jazz Scholarship, many extraordinarily talented young jazz musicians have been able to pursue their educational dreams,” said Tony Mowod, founder of the Pittsburgh Jazz Society.
The winner will receive $5,000 and will be selected by a panel of well-known musicians and educators who will judge on the basis of musical interest and ability demonstrated. Along with the application, participants must include an audition tape or CD.

SummerFood program
The Allegheny Department of Human Services will open their SummerFood program June 14. The program will provide free recreation and breakfast and lunch meals throughout the week for disadvantaged children and youths under the age of 18.
