Speak Out: What do you think of Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension?

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been suspended by the NFL for unprofessional conduct. We asked Pittsburghers what they thought and here’s what you said:

“Roethlisberger was the great golden boy of Pittsburgh. The city hasn’t had anyone like him since Terry Bradshaw. More than the city, he let himself down. He needs to stay away from alcohol. The Steelers have $100 million invested in him and he isn’t going anywhere.”

“He’s a young guy who can’t handle his liquor. He needs to be in drug and alcohol counseling. He’s arrogant. The money he got made him believe he is God. He shouldn’t be traded but the suspension was fair. It’s going to humble him.

“I think that women lie on him and the whole story has been over exaggerated. I don’t think that he deserves to be traded, but neither did Santonio Holmes.”

“I am disappointed. He has a lot going for him but is messing it up. He needs to find a good woman and settle down. I think he should have been traded just like Santonio Holmes.”

“I feel ambiguous due to the fact that we are all innocent until proven guilty. But nobody knows what happened except him and the woman. I do feel that he put himself into a situation after having had similar accusations in the past. I would have no problem with him being traded. There are better quarterbacks, like Bryon Leftwich.

“I think he should have gotten suspended for more than six games. He is continuously making mistakes and makes too much money to not be more responsible. I think he should have been traded. He’s good, but not that good.”
