Out & About with Brotha Ash and KRS-ONE

This week I visited the Benedum Center in Downtown Pittsburgh, Kenny’s Place in the Hill District, CJ’s in the Strip District and the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty.

My first stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District where actors Clifton Powell and Carl Payne, along with national recording artist Christopher Williams, came to greet their fans before they performed at the Benedum Center in a play called “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You.”

The ladies were happy that the gentlemen came out to get their party on and dance the night away. The very next night I went back to CJ’s to celebrate Kenny’s “black party” with family and friends. This was an outstanding event because everyone was dressed in black and listened to live music. The food was great and the atmosphere was classy and sophisticated.

My next stop was at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty where the legendary hip-hop artist KRS-ONE performed for all the hip-hop heads in the crowd. This event was presented by S.A.V.V.Y. Marketing. I have to shout out Justin for letting me know about the event. KRS-ONE rocked the mic and gave the crowd a great show.

My next stop was at the Benedum Center in Downtown, Pittsburgh, where Herron Enterprises presented Derrick Brinkley’s play “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You.” This was a play about family, friends and how God steps in and saves the day. It was a great event and if you missed it, you really missed out. Support Black theater when it comes to Pittsburgh.

My final destination was at Kenny’s Place in the Hill District where karaoke was in full effect. Everyone who went to the play came to Kenny’s afterwards to get their party on and have a great time. I have to shout out Thurston, Darnell, Quice and DJ X-Man for getting the party started.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Send all your event and party information to info@BrothaAshProductions.com and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT.
