‘Casino Liberty’

The Pittsburgh Public Action Communitarian Theatre presents “Casino Liberty” at 8 p.m. at the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This is a 75-minute show of life in Pittsburgh’s East End community through the lens of randomness and chance, risk and reward and security and surveillance.Prior to each performance there will be a mixer with free food and a talk back with members of the theater company. ‘Jitney’

The Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents August Wilson’s  “Jitney” at 8 p.m. at 542 Penn Ave., Cultural District. The play, directed by Mark Clayton Southers, is the seventh in Wilson’s 10-play Cycle and features Sala Udin and an all-star cast. It’s set in 1970s in the Hill District and depicts gypsy-cab drivers who serve Black neighborhoods and depicts the Black experience in 20th century America.
