Speak Out: How important is a pharmacy to the Hill District?

What is your reaction to the pharmacy being opened by Duquesne University? Here’s what you said:

“It’s very important because of the elderly who live here. The nearest one is out of the community and is a big travel for a lot of people. I think it’s good that Duquesne University is bringing it and I support it 100 percent.”

“It’s very important that a pharmacy is going to be brought to the Hill especially with Melwood Drugs closing. That was the closet place to the Hill. With Duquesne opening one in the community, it will probably still be high-priced and people without insurance still won’t be able to afford it.”

“It’s very important because people won’t have to run everywhere to get to a pharmacy. I am glad Duquesne is taking the initiative to do it. We should have one. We have a lot of elderly people in the community and it would be much closer for them.”

“I think it’s good. It’s very important for the children, elderly and people in general. I think it would be beautiful for the university to open it.”

“It’s very important to have one here. A lot of people can’t get out and have a hard time getting around. I don’t know much about the university but I do think it’s good for the community.”

“It’s very important since there are so many residents. We need a pharmacy. I think it would be an asset to the community. I think it’s good that Duquesne is bringing it because they will have qualified people. I think it’s a good idea since no one else decided to open it.”
