JUNE 4—The Small Business Development Center of the University of Pittsburgh will host “Getting Your Finances in Order: Bookkeeping Basics” from 7:30-10 a.m. at Mervis Hall, Roberto Clemente Dr., Oakland. Attendees will learn everything from bookkeeping terminology and basic internal controls to the financial dos and don’ts. This free half-day seminar will give participants the opportunity to hear from government agencies and prime contractors on how to do business with their organizations. JUNE 9—The Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative will host their Symposium Implementing a Diversity and Inclusion Plan from 2-4 p.m. at Ciopinno, 2350 Railroad St., Strip District. The presenter will be Jay Lubowitz from Duquesne University. He will introduce the Taylor Cox model of implementing a diversity plan in an organization.
