Jazz jam

CJ’s Restaurant & Lounge presents “The Roger Humphries & RH Factor Jazz Jam Session” at 8 p.m. at 2901-2911 Penn Ave., Strip District. There will be live jazz and fun every Thursday night. ‘Full Bloom’

The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents “Full Bloom: Take the Stage” from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. at 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This is the kick-off event for the theater’s summer programming presented as Celebrate East Liberty. This dance party celebration will feature DoubleShot!, the Stacee Pearl Dance Project, the Alumni Theater Company and Pittsburgh PACT. There will also be a reception and silent auction. The celebration will also take place June 12. Tickets are $75 for the reception and dance party, $35 in advance for the dance party only and $40 at the door for the dance party only. ‘Radio Golf’

The University of Pittsburgh’s Kuntu Repertory Theatre presents “Radio Golf” by August Wilson at 8 p.m. at Alumni Hall, 7th floor Auditorium, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. This is the last play of the 2009-2010 season and ends with the final play in Wilson’s 10-play cycle chronicling Black life in the 20th century. The play is about a successful entrepreneur Harmond Wilks, who aspires to become the city’s first Black mayor. But when his past comes to life, his campaign is put in jeopardy. Each Tuesday there will be a performance from some of Pittsburgh’s finest jazz musicians. This week’s featured musician is the Benny Benack III Quintet.
