Out & About with Brotha Ash

This week I visited the new hot spot in Downtown Pittsburgh called the Melange Bistro Bar, The Whim in Station Square, The Red Onion in the Hill District, Station Square Amphitheatre in Station Square, The Shadow Lounge in East Liberty and Heat Night Club in the Strip District.

My first stop was the Station Square Amphitheatre where B. Marshall Productions held Pittsburgh’s first Spring Bling Concert featuring national recording artist Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, Hurricane Chris and Roscoe Dash. The event was hosted by Rocsi of BET’s 106 and Park and co-hosted by J-Kruz of 101theBlaze.com and Vanessa of SteelCityLive.com.

My next stop was at Heat Night Club in the Strip District where B. Marshall Productions held the after-party for the Spring Bling concert. Lil’ Kim and Busta Rhymes made an appearance and everyone had a great time getting their party and drink on all night. I have to shout out B. Marshall Productions for always bringing the great events to the ’Burgh.

My next stop was the new hot spot called Melange Bistro Bar in Downtown Pittsburgh where Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc., presented “Return of the Kings.” All the major players were in the building—K. Chase Patterson, Mike Logan, Will James and all the ladies came out to the event as well.

My next stop was at The Whim in Station Square where Money Motivated Entertainment presented the “All White Memorial Celebration” featuring the one and only Vivica A. Fox. Everyone was dressed to impress in white, while deejays J-Kruz, Mike Dean and GQ were on the 1’s and 2’s. I have to shout out Bum for having a very successful event for the ’Burgh.

My next stop was at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty where Charismatic Marketing presented an event called “The Standard” featuring DJ Nate Da Phat Barber and DJ SMI on the 1’s and 2’s giving the crowd plenty of hot music to dance to.

My final destination was at the Red Onion in the Hill District where everyone was getting their karaoke on and having a great time. If you haven’t been to the Red Onion yet, you must go and check it out. You are guaranteed to have a good time.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Send all your party and event information to and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT!
