JUNE 16—Chatham University’s Center for Women’s Entre­preneurship will host their Law and Business Seminars from 8-9:30 a.m. at Woodland Rd., Shadyside. This business session will provide practical and effective steps that one can use to protect their business and the people that ensure its success. Some of the topics include proper business formation, indemnification agreements, insurance contracts and more. The guest speakers will be Beth A. Slagle, Esq. and Joshua M. Farber, Esq. JUNE 17—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15-1 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St. The topic is “The Rewards of Living Within Your Means.” Ted Lund, regional vice president and partner of Primerica Financial Services, will discuss how to gain a better understanding of how money works and what it takes to have a healthier financial life. JUNE 17—Jessica Lee and Pittsburgh Gateway Corp. will host “Entrepreneurial Thursdays” from 5:30-8 p.m. at Little E’s, 949 Liberty Ave., Downtown. The theme is “Innovative Writers.” This is a professional networking event with live jazz/R&B music. There is a $5 fee. Business casual is the attire. No jeans or tennis shoes. JUNE 18—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host their PowerBreakfast Meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The featured speaker will be Allen G. Kukovich, executive director of Power of 32-Regional Visioning Project. He will discuss a new initiative where 32 counties in southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, West Virginia and western Maryland, join in a partnership and what values can be derived.
