Pastoral installation

JUNE 23—Jerusalem Baptist Church, 123 Steuben St., West End will celebrate the installation of Rev. Theodore E. Pugh as pastor. It will run through June 27. Special guest speakers will include Pastor Nathan Pennybaker, Pastor James E. Hunt, Pastor David Lee, Rev. Ronald Matthews and Pastor Michael Thomas. LEADING THE CELEBRATION—Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 6556 Shetland St., East Liberty, celebrated their 111th anniversary May 23-25. The regular service was held May 23, and a teaching revival with Rev. Herbert Ponder was held May 24-25. Gospel concert

JUNE 26—Alberta Ayers and friends will host a Gospel Concert at 5 p.m. at Dunamis Baptist Church, 751 Wallace Ave., Wilkinsburg. The program will feature some of the leading singers in the area. Missionary day

JUNE 27—The Missionary Society of Clark Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Glenn St., Homestead, will host their Annual Missionary Day at 11 a.m. The theme is “Missionaries: God’s Helping Hand.” The guest speaker will be Sister Jean Turner of Second Baptist Church in Homestead. Women’s day

JUNE 27—Mount Olive Baptist Church, 330 Fourth St., Rankin, will host their Women’s Day Celebration at 11 a.m. The theme is “Kingdom Builders.” The guest preacher will be Rev. JULY 7—Rodman Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty, will host the Pastoral Installation of Rev. Darryl T. Canady at 7 p.m. The guest preachers will be Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis, Rev. Dr. Jason Barr, Rev. John Welch, Rev. DeNeice Welch, Rev. Carol Milligan and Rev. Joseph Ross. There will be a banquet July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Marriott City Center Hotel in Uptown and on July 11 there will be a special service at 7:30 a.m. with guest preacher Rev. Keith Canady, the pastor’s brother; and at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charles Nesbitt Jr. Then there will be an installation service at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in East Liberty at 3 p.m. with Rev. Men’s breakfast

Gospel hour

ONGOING—Pittsburgh Spirit & Soul will host a Friday Lunchtime Gospel Hour from 12:15-1 p.m. at 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. Every Friday, from now until September, Rev. Deryck Tines Mitchell and his gospel singers will sing praises. Other artists include Minister Del Fullum, Marlene Davis, Wyatt Woods, Felecia Harvey and more. The event is free and all are welcome.
