AUG. 12—Jessica Lee and the Pittsburgh Gateway Corp. will host “Entrepreneurial Thursdays” from 5:30-8 p.m. at Little E’s, 949 Liberty Ave., Downtown. The theme is “Medical Device Entrepre­neurs.” This is a professional networking event with live jazz/ R&B music. There is a $5 fee. Business casual is the attire. Golf outing

AUG. 14—The Minority Network Exchange will host the Third Annual Golf Outing at 9:45 a.m. at Westwood Golf Course, 825 Commonwealth Ave., West Mifflin. AUG. 17—The Women’s Small Business Association After-Work Network will host an After Work Networking Event from 5-7 p.m. at Seviche, 930 Penn Ave., Downtown. Women in technology

AUG. 18—TiE Pittsburgh will host “Women Who Lead Us On: Top Female Entrepreneurs Who Are Venturing Into the Newest Technologies” from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Offices of Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., 20th floor, Downtown. Business series

AUG. 19— The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15-1 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St. The topic is “Better Business Writing: The Key to Effective Email.” Alison Conte, assistant director for Web Communications & Marketing at Duquesne University, will lead the session. Attendees will learn how to effectively communicate your messages and avoid casually written emails that can cause confusion, create misunderstandings and hinder operations.
