This week I visited the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, the Montage in Wilkinsburg, the Wyndham Hotel Ballroom in Oakland, the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, Kelly’s Place in East Liberty, CJ’s in the Strip District, Melange’s Bristol Bar in Downtown Pittsburgh, and Ujamaa Collective’s Market Place in the Hill District.
My first stop was the Montage in Wilkinsburg where Schenley High School held their reunion for the class of 1970. It was a great turnout and everyone was glad to reunite and have a great time.

My next stop was the Red Onion in the Hill District where Kena Boo held her birthday bash with friends and family. It was a tropical theme and everyone got their party and drink on.
My next stop was the Wyndham Hotel Ballroom where the Schenley High School Class of 1970 continued their reunion with an elegant dinner and dance.
My next stop was the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty where DJ Vex was on the 1s and 2s playing the hits all night long. Pittsburgh folk came out to dance the night away.
My next stop was at Kelly’s in East Liberty where bartender Jen held a going away party because she is getting ready to attend nursing school. Congratulations on your future endeavors.

My next stop was at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture where R&B Artistree held a concert featuring Flo Wilson and the Old School Band, violinist Rodney McCoy and Vanessa Campagna. Tim Stevens was the host of the event and the show was a major success.
My next stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District where DJ Sly Jock was on the 1s and 2s doing his thing for the crowd.
My next stop was at Mélange’s Bristol Bar in Downtown Pittsburgh where Jai Legacy held a party for the grown and sexy. All of the professionals came out to party and style.
My final destination was at the grand opening of Ujamaa Collective’s Market Place in the Hill District where vendors set up their tents and sold food, jewelry and other unique items for the community to buy. Great music, fun and fellowship were also a major part of the grand opening.
