Kick off event
SEPT. 23—The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council will host its Strengthening Pittsburgh Arts Free Kick Off Event from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Father Ryan Arts Center, 420 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks. There will be a full day of workshop and tips on surviving tough economic times. There will also be an opportunity to apply for the financial leadership clinic or the Peer 360 Assessments. Anniversary celebration
SEPT. 23—The Schenley Heights Community Development Program will host its 15th Anniversary Celebration at 6 p.m. at the Twentieth Century Club, Bigelow Blvd., Oakland. The theme is “Celebrating 15 Years of Hope.” Mistress of ceremonies will be Lynne Hayes-Freeland of KDKA and the speaker will be Robert Hill of the University of Pittsburgh. Women’s luncheon
SEPT. 24—The YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host the “Retrospective on Women, Then & Now” Luncheon from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. Town hall meeting
SEPT. 25—Gateway Medical Society will host a Town Hall Meeting from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Herberman Center, Centre Ave., Shadyside.
