Philadelphia native Kevin Hart’s recent show was a sellout. He has sold out shows all over the globe which included the one he just performed at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial in Oakland, presented by Savvy Marketing, Inc.

“You have to have originality and find a lane that suits you. Being a comedian, there are so many of us that are funny. What keeps me relevant is honesty and I tell the truth and my jokes reach people in a different way. They can relate to what I’m saying and they laugh and they say to themselves that ‘I know this guy.’ Not only are they laughing, but they are relating at the same time. I think I will be around for a while,” Hart said.
Hart served as writer, co–executive producer and star of the 2004 ABC sitcom “The Big House.” In 2005 he won a Platinum Mic Viewers Choice Award at the BET Comedy Awards. He has also starred in his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. He was in the “Get Buck in Here” video. He appeared on an episode of Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘n Out.”
“In time, I will do dramatic roles in the future and I will conquer the world. When the time comes for that I want to be prepared for it. Right now, I enjoy being funny because it’s all about success and getting there the best way that you can. Standup comedy, comedic roles and acting are the things I like doing right now,” said Hart.
He also starred in the movie “Soul Plane” which is a comedy motion picture from MGM, released in the United States in 2004. The film starred Hart, Method Man, Tom Arnold, D.L. Hughley, Mo’Nique, K.D. Aubert, Godfrey, and Snoop Dogg. Hart plays a character that had a bad experience on a plane and subsequently starts his own airline.
Hart does not want to leave a legacy. He just wants to be remembered in a good way.
“When you say legacy, I think of Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy. I just want to be remembered as somebody who took their job serious and someone who opened up doors for others and someone who was just good at their craft,” he said.
In 2008, Hart was featured in Three 6 Mafia‘s music video for “Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body)” off Three 6 Mafia’s 2008 album, “Last 2 Walk.” He plays Bigg Bunny in “Fool’s Gold.” He is a member of the cast of the Comedy Central show “Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire,” which premiered April 9, 2009. He plays the role of Zezelryck, a second-rate stage magician masquerading as a powerful warlock whose greatest magical gift is spinning a line. Hart has an assistant who shoots videos that are placed on YouTube and who has the job of placing a small platform for Hart to step on so he can be at eye level with most other people (due to his height of 5-4). In 2009, Hart appeared in a series of eBay commercials. He has been married to Torre Hart for 11 years. In March 2005, his daughter Heaven Leigh (pronounced Heavenly) Hart was born. He also has a three-year- old son, Hendrix.
After winning a few contests, he quit his job as a shoe salesman and embarked on a career in comedy. His performance in big shows has landed him parts in feature films such as “Paper Soldiers,” “Scary Movie 3,” “Along Came Polly,” “Scary Movie 4,” and “Death at a Funeral.”
“At one point in time and I could have went to the next level and by that I mean pros. On my football team, I make people laugh. I said to myself that I’m going to do this comedy thing and once I figured it out, I haven’t looked back since. It’s easy to be a football player because they are nothing but a bunch of suckers,” he said joking sitting next to Steeler Ben Roethlisberger. “As a comedian it’s very hard because it’s a different level of training,” he said.
A comedian at heart, he has made several stand-up appearances on Comedy Central, including “I’m a Grown Little Man” (2009) and “Seriously Funny” (2010). He is known as “The Shortest Comedian Ever to Touch a Damn Microphone & Hit the Stage.”
“Media is very important to me and so is the internet. Facebook, MySpace and all of the other social networking tools are great. To be able to reach out and connect with your fans is huge. When I say something to them, they can say something back and we interact with each other. My fan page just builds and builds and before you know it, you become your own professional tool. I just started a production company where I will be writing, producing and starring in my own projects. I am trying to become a mogul and follow in the footsteps of Chris Rock, Ice Cube and all of the people that started small and eventually got large,” Hart said.
