The topic is “Supercharge Your Career Planning.” Jeffrey Fortescue, Manager of Business and Reference at the library, will help individuals discover the library’s resume maker and their testing & education reference center. NOV. 10—NuRelm will host a Top 10 “Must Have” Website Upgrades for Non-Profits Webinar from 10-11:30 a.m. Guests will learn the top website upgrades to maximize their marketing budget for 2011. There will also be a discussion of the best web programs created specifically for non-profit organizations. Registration is required by Nov. 9 and there is no cost for the webinar. Bookkeeping basics

NOV. 12—The University of Pittsburgh’s Small Business Development Center and Bookminders will host “Getting Your Financials in Order: Bookkeeping Basics” from 7:30-10 a.m. at the university’s Mervis Hall, Roberto Clementai Dr., Oakland. The program focuses on everything from bookkeeping basics and basic internal controls to the financial do’s and don’ts. There will be live examples of how to keep track of one’s finances using “spreadsheet” bookkeeping system. This seminar is for business owners who need training in bookkeeping. Social networking for

businesses

NOV. 15—The Greater Wilkinsburg Chamber of Commerce and the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host Social Networking for Closely-Hold Businesses from 7:30-10 a.m. at Hosanna House, 807 Wallace Ave., Wilkinsburg. This program will teach individuals how to get started on social network sites and how they can effectively promote one’s business with little or no cost. Robert Stein will lead the workshop and registration is required. The cost is $15 for Wilkinsburg Chamber members and $25 for non-members.
