Anniversary luncheon

DEC. 1—The Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force will host their 25th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The highlighted speakers will be Dr. Marty St. Clair and Dr. Ron Stall of the University of Pittsburgh. Education forum

DEC. 1—The Westinghouse Alumni Association will host the African-American Educators Address Pittsburgh Public Schools East End High Schools Reform Plan Community Education Forum from 6-8 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave., first conference room, East Liberty. The forum will consist of a panel discussion, by Pittsburgh Public Schools retired teachers and administrators, discussing various topics pertaining to the education such as teacher preparation, retention, classic academics vs. technical schools and more. Light-up night

DEC. 3—The Sweetwater Center for the Arts will host “Let the Men Cook” and Sewickley Light Up Night from 5-9 p.m. at 200 Broad St., Sewickley. Ladies are encouraged to shop the night away while an all male-volunteer-turned gourmet chef team prepare a three-course meal. Diamond gala

DEC. 3—Giant Eagle will host the 3rd Annual Diamond Gala from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, 4215 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The gala is in honor of Jackie Dixon and benefits Cribs for Kids. There will be a fashion show and silent auction. Entertainment will be by the Piano Man, Mark Venneri. Leadership awards gala

DEC. 3—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host the 5th Annual Ronald H. Brown Leadership Awards Gala at 7 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. The organization will give out awards for civic leadership, community leadership and the special posthumous award. There will be a reception and silent auction. Open house

DEC. 4—Imagine Environmental Charter School at Frick Park will host an Open House from 10 a.m.-1 2 p.m. at 829 Milton St., Frick Park. Closing celebration

DEC. 5—The Community College of Allegheny County will host “One College…One Community” Closing Celebration at 3 p.m. at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The One College…One Community initiative is a series of outreach events designed to promote literacy, reading and community involvement. There will be a screening based upon the Ernest J. DEC. 8—Tax Services by Karen will host Photos with Santa from 3-8 p.m. at 749 E. Warrington Ave., Allentown. Pictures will be taken through Dec. 11. Coffee tasting

DEC. 9—Amani International Coffeehouse & Café and the Heinz Endowments will host “An Evening of Coffee Tasting” from 5-9 p.m. at 507 Foreland Dr., North Side. There will be coffee, desserts, live music and a silent auction. The special guest will be Nick Eason of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coat drive

DEC. 11—The East Hills Boy Scouts will host a Coat Giveaway at 1 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave., East Liberty. Coats will be given to needy children ages 4-12. Officer installation

DEC. 14—The Pittsburgh Branch NAACP will host the Installation of Officers for the 2011/2012 Year at 7 p.m. at Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty. The elected officers will be M. Gayle Moss, president; Constance Parker, first vice president; Marcella Lee, second vice president; Johnnie Miott, third vice president; Imogene Hines, secretary; and Anna Hollis, treasurer.
