A love for education and a dedication to impacting the lives of youth is what kept Preola Glover teaching in the Pittsburgh Public School System for 31 years. On Jan. 21, Glover ended her lesson in life at Forbes Hospice after a battle with Multiple Myeloma, a form of cancer.
Glover was born on Sept. 23, 1940 in Montgomery, Ala., and taught English at a school in Georgia, where she met and married the late Arthur Lee Glover. In 1968 she received a job offer with the Boy Scouts of America and moved to Pittsburgh.

In 1969 Glover was hired by the Pittsburgh Public School District, where she taught until her retirement in 2000. She was a long time resident of Wilkinsburg, and a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.
Glover is survived by two daughters; Talitha Stillwell and Chelsea Glover. Arrangements are being handled by White Memorial Chapel. The viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Mt. Ararat. The service will immediately follow the viewing. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Norwalk, Conn.
