Sweet jazz

The Sweetwater Center for the Arts and Clearview Federal Credit Union present the Sweet Jazz Music Series from 7-9 p.m. at 200 Broad St., Sewickley. This is the return of the regular jazz series. Every Friday in February local talent is showcased in a night-club setting with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $8-$15, depending on membership. This week’s entertainer will be Donna Bailey bringing her mix of classic jazz, swing and blues with a sophisticated style. Jazz and Baseball

MCG Jazz presents the Jazz & Baseball concert at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall, 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester. This is an event to connect music and the sports, with the American Jazz Museum and the Negro League Baseball Museum, which share the same space in Kansas City, Mo. The featured guests will be the DIVA Jazz Orchestra and special guests from baseball. Shades of Love

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and BNY Mellon JazzLive presents “Shades of Love” featuring Sean Jones at 10 p.m. at the Cabaret Theater Square, 655 Penn Ave., Cultural District. The evening will feature a Valentine’s Day weekend with Jones and his Quintet. He will be playing music from his upcoming album. Teenie Harris documentary

Shady Side Academy presents a screening of “One Shot: The Life and Work of Teenie Harris” and Photo Exhibit at 6:30 p.m. at the Hillman Center for Performing Arts, 423 Fox Chapel Rd., Fox Chapel. This is a 60-minute film of an honest image of the 20th century African-American experience through Harris’ life as a lens. There will be a question and answer session following the screening with filmmaker Ken Love and John Brewer. The exhibit will run through March and is free and open to the public. Black history exhibit

Citiparks presents “The Strength of Steel: A Tribute to African-American Steelworkers in Pittsburgh” from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the City-County Building Lobby, 414 Grant St., Downtown. The Black history exhibit will feature photographs and other memorabilia honoring the generations of Steelworkers who helped transform the city to the “Steel City.” The exhibit will run through Feb. 25 and is free and open to the public. Black Angels

The Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the Tuskegee Airman and the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Project presents “Black Angels Over Tuskegee” at 4 p.m. at the Byham Theater, 101 6th St., Downtown. This story depicts the life of six men who struggle through the Jim Crow Era and emerge as the first African-American pilots in the US Army Air Force.
