Out & About with Brotha Ash

As I promised, here is Part II of the holiday events that I had the pleasure of celebrating with you. This week I visited the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Club Café on the South Side of Pittsburgh,  the August Wilson Center in Downtown Pittsburgh, the Circuit Center on the South Side of Pittsburgh, Calvary Baptist Church in the Hill District and the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood.

My first stop was at Club Café on the South Side where R&B group Artistree held a concert featuring Rodney McCoy and Teresa Hawthorne to a sold out crowd. All of the groups did a fantastic job and celebrated the holidays with their fans.

My next stop was at the August Wilson Center in Downtown Pittsburgh where Afrika Yetu and Growing Our Reach presented their Citywide Kwanzaa and a Pittsburgh Celebration of Family, Community and Culture and Kwanzaa Elegance. If you missed this event, you really missed a great show.

My next stop was at the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood where the legendary violinist Rodney McCoy and singer Teresa Hawthorne performed at the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza and brought in the new year with class and style.

My next stop was at Calvary Baptist Church in the Hill District where Pastor Melvin T. Jackson and Reverend Thomas E. Smith of Monumental Baptist Church came together to bring in the New Year by combining both churches and having a New Year’s celebration service.

My next stop was at the Circuit Center on the South Side of Pittsburgh where Savvy Marketing and RAW Entertainment joined together to bring in national recording artist Raheem DeVaughn for an event called “Resolution New Year’s Eve 2011.” Everyone came out for this event and had a great time.

My final destination was at the Monroeville Convention Center where Savoy Restaurant presented gospel singer Fred Hammond. This was a great way to bring in the New Year with praise and worship and a great concert for his fans. Chuck Sanders and John Bettis really know how to put a show together. Look out for more events to come from Savoy Restaurant and also look out for the grand opening coming soon.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Please send all of your party and event information to info@BrothaAshProductions.com and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT!!!
