Good news

707 Penn Gallery presents “Ayanah Moor: Good News” from 11 .am.-6 p.m. at 707 Penn Ave., Cultural District. Since 1945, Ebony has been the heralded, mainstream chronicle of the African American community, covering issues, personalities and interests in a self-affirming manner. A featured Ebony article on dating from the 1980s provides the inspiration for artist Moor’s recent project, Good News. Through the use of creative wordplay, Moor offers an alternative commentary on site, desire and eligibility. The show will run through April 3. It is free and open to the public. Anniversary celebration

The Afro-American Music Institute presents their 28th Anniversary celebration at 6 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Suite 411, Downtown. The evening will feature dinner, dancing and entertainment by the AAMI faculty, staff and advanced students. There will also be a performance from Sean Jones.
