This week I visited Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District located at 2623 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222. Last weekend was the “Pre-Grand Opening Weekend” of Savoy Restaurant and it was a sight that Pittsburgh has never seen before.
When I pulled up to the front of the establishment, it was like a scene out of Hollywood or New York City. The lights were flashing and there was valet parking and the red carpet was hot with celebrities, sport figures and professional businessmen and women who came out to enjoy a taste of the good life.
National recording artist Mya came in town to show Savoy Restaurant some love and celebrate Chuck Sanders birthday in style.

Much more than just a restaurant, you never know who might be in the same room at Savoy, which is Pittsburgh’s premier dining experience and much more.
Mel Blount and wife, TiAnda, checking out the good life at Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District. |
Started and owned by Pittsburgh’s own Chuck Sanders, Savoy is Sanders’ vision of high-scale establishments common to Miami, Las Vegas and New York. Helping to make this vision reality is Kevin Watson, Savoy’s executive chef who has served as personal chef for the Pittsburgh Steelers and premier Pittsburgh CEOs.
Just to give you taste of the good life, here is a list of some of celebrities who came out to the “Pre-Grand Opening Weekend:” R&B singer Mya, hip-hop legend Bizmarke, Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger, Mel Blount, Jerome Bettis, Al B. Sure, models Tyson Beckford, Jessica White and Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, just to name a few. Make your reservations at https://www.savoypgh.com because Savoy Restaurant officially opens to the public, Thursday, May 5.
