JUNE 15—The Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center will host “PA Sales and Use Tax-What is it and how does it affect my business?” from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Saint Vincent College, 300 Fraser Purchase Rd., Latrobe. The seminar will be customized to answer questions specific to one’s business needs. JUNE 15—The National Association of Women Business Owners of Greater Pittsburgh will host its Downtown Divas Live Music and Networking event from 6-9 p.m. at Villa South Side, 1831 E. JUNE 16—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15 at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic is “Downsizing Your Home Clutter-How to Start, Finish and Stay Organized!” Jill Revitsky, of Discover Organizing Inc., will discuss the best ways to start the seemingly overwhelming process of decluttering large and small spaces in one’s home. PowerBreakfast

JUNE 17—The African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host their PowerBreakfast Meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The special guest will be Steve Bland, CEO of Port Authority of Allegheny County. He will focus on the changes and plans for public transportation and the impact on individuals and their workforce. Business basics

JUNE 18– SCORE Pittsburgh will host a Small Business Basics Workshop at 8:30 a.m. at the PNC-YMCA, 2nd floor, 226 Fifth Ave., Downtown. This workshop is presented by working professionals and helps new businesses get off to the right start by studying the legal requirements of starting a business and covering key topics that will impact the success or failure of the business. There will be discussions on marketing, record keeping, taxes, business plans development and how to obtain a small business loan. Registration is requested by June 15 and the cost is $45. JUNE 23—HR Leadership Forum will host How Does Your Organization Really Get Things Done: Organizational Network Analysis from 8-10 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. Kim Rhule will facilitate this seminar, which will feature case studies exploring how ONA has helped businesses to understand their ineffectiveness in getting work done.
