JUNE 16—The Alzheimer Disease Research Center, the Alzheimer Outreach Center and The University of Pittsburgh will host the Walter Allen Memorial Seminar Series at 2 p.m. at the Hill House Kaufmann Center, Conference Room A, 1835 Centre Ave., Hill District. Youth Symposium

JUNE 16—Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center and the Manchester-Bidwell Corporation will host The Symposium on Reducing Youth Violence: Models for Success at Manchester-Bidwell Corporation, 1815 Metropolitan St., North Side. This two-day symposium is structured to develop and support a learning atmosphere and will include stimulating presentations by experts, panel discussions, and question and answer sessions. Town Hall Meeting

JUNE 17—Talk radio host Bev Smith will host a Town Hall Meeting from 7-10 p.m. at the August Wilson Center, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The theme for the meeting is “The Endangered Black Man.” Special guests will be Jeff Henderson, an award winning chef and author; Boyce D. Watkins, political analyst; Esther Bush, president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh; and Albert E. Dotson Jr., chairman of the 100 Black Men of America. Juneteenth Celebration

JUNE 18—Sewickley Community Center will host a Juneteenth Celebration at 9 a.m. at 15 Chadwick St., Sewickley. The celebration will begin with the Daniel B. Matthews Historical Society Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; then a panel discussion at 10 a.m. on Education as a roadway to financial literacy or parallel pipeline to prison with Jonelle Henry as the moderator; and various indoor and outdoor activities. Basketball Clinic

JUNE 18—The Ozanam Basketball Program will host a Girls Basketball Clinic from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at West Penn Recreation Center, 470 30th St., Strip District. The girls clinic will be every Saturday from June 18-July 30. There will also be a Boys Basketball Clinic every Monday from 6-7 p.m. at Ammon from June 20-July 30. Girl Talk

JUNE 18—The Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force’s (PATF) Girl Talk Project will host a Parent Education Event from 1-3 p.m. at the PATF, 5913 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This is an event to facilitate conversations between teenage girls, ages 13-18, and their parents or caregivers. The talk will focus on topics such as personal perspectives on sexuality and orientation, HIV and other STDs. Speaker Series

JUNE 18—The McKeesport Heritage Center will host its Summer Speaker Series at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Center, 1832 Arboretum Dr., McKeesport. Public Discussion

JUNE 22—The Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Juvenile Justice will host a Public Discussion at 5 p.m. at DHS building, Liberty Conference Room Lower Level, One Smithfield St., Downtown. The discussion is to hear recommendations from County residents about how to coordinate services for children and youth in Allegheny County. Attendees will be able to speak directly with Director Mark Cherna, Juvenile Probation staff and administrators. Walk 4 Life

JUNE 25—The Kierra Keeps Caring Foundation and Lekurion Salon will host the 2nd Annual Walk 4 Life “Take A Step, Save A Soul” at 10 a.m. at the Schenley Park Trails, near Anderson Grove, Oakland. Proceeds from the walk will benefit the foundation, which reaches out to parents and children to promote a positive quality of life for youth. Scholarship Luncheon

JUNE 25—The Association of Pittsburgh Black Nurses will host the 3rd Annual Evelyn Paige Parker Scholarship Luncheon from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Churchill Valley Country Club, 800 Beulah Rd., Churchill.
