What if you could wave a magic wand and be a princess for a day?
Dozens of beautiful little girls found out what it would be like to be a princess, if only for an afternoon, June 4, at the Hill House Kaufmann Center, thanks to Tameka Swoope Morrison and her mother, Sandra Swoope.
The pair organized a mother/daughter sit-down luncheon complete with arts and crafts activities, pictures, games and fun.

The centerpiece of the afternoon was the arrival of the prince and princess played by Carter Redwood and Iman Allen. Actress and costume designer, Cheryl El Walker narrated and wrote the presentation and the children thoroughly loved it.

The ladies dined on a menu fit for a princess and the cupcakes were adorned with pictures of the first Black Disney princess Anika Noni Rose (“The Princess and the Frog”). Swoope Morrison says, the event was based upon “my mother and I just wanted to give something back to the young girls in the community, giving my daughter and other little girls the opportunity to be a princess for a day, while enjoying time with their mothers. The relationship between a mother and daughter is priceless.”
It was an afternoon that proved dreams do come true.
