Support group

JULY 20—The Cancer Caring Center will host the African American Women’s Breast Cancer Support Network from 6-7 p.m. at the East Liberty Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 130 S. Whitfield Ave., East Liberty. Every first and third Wednesday of the month, this free networking social support group will be led by Yvonne Durham, breast cancer survivor and local advocate. Sports luncheon

JULY 22—The Pittsburgh Pirates from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. will host its 2011 African-American Heritage Day Sports Luncheon at PNC Park, Lexus Club, Federal St., North Shore. The keynote speaker for the event will be Herman Boone, whose inspirational story was captured in the Disney film “Remember the Titans.” He will be speaking on Lessons in Diversity. Tickets are $65. Class reunion

JULY 22—The Fifth Avenue High School Class of 1960 and 1961 Reunion Committee will host a 50th and 51st Class Reunion at the Comfort Inn Hotel, Rodi Rd., Penn Hills. Auditions

JULY 30—The Pittsburgh Penguins will host Auditions for the Pittsburgh Penguins Skating Ice Crew for the 2011-12 season from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Iceoplex at Southpointe, 114 Southpointe Blvd., Cannonsburg. The preliminary auditions for girls will be held July 30 and for boys July 31 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. It will include both interviews and skating sessions. AUG. 6—The Community Empowerment Association will host its 8th Annual 2011 Pittsburgh Black Family Reunion from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Schenley Park Oval, Oakland.
