OCT. 28—Life’sWork of Western Pennsylvania will host an Employer Breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Rivers Club, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The breakfast will focus on promoting the hiring of individuals with disabilities and youth who are being phased out of the school system. Growth expo

NOV. 1—The Pittsburgh Business Times will host the Business Growth Expo from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel, 101 Radisson Dr., Greentree. The event will feature a line-up of speakers with expertise in areas such as entrepreneurism, sales and marketing, customer service, leadership and team building. Doug Keeley will be the master of ceremonies and Steve Gilliland and Steven Schussler will be the keynote speakers. Registration is required by Oct. 30. Nonprofit QuickBooks

NOV. 2—Robert Morris University’s Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management will host Nonprofit Accounting with QuickBooks from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at 425 Sixth Ave., Downtown. This is for individuals looking to use QuickBooks for nonprofit organizations. Attendees will learn how to use QuickBooks to track grants, programs and events. Registration is required. NOV. 3—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic is “Scams and Frauds-At Home, Work and on the Internet.” Rebecca Maier, public relations director of the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania, will discuss sweepstake scams, Internet scams, work-at-home scams, identity theft and more.
