Harris Exhibition

The Carnegie Museum of Art presents “Teenie Harris, Photographer: An American Story” at the museum’s Heinz Galleries, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This is an exhibit about famous photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris and features thousands of his classic and historic photos. There will also be life size projections combined with a newly commissioned jazz soundtrack. The exhibit will run through April 7, 2012. For more information, visit www.cmoa.org.

Jazz Jam

CJ’s Restaurant & Lounge presents “The Roger Humphries & RH Factor Jazz Jam Session” at 8 p.m. at 2901-2911 Penn Ave., Strip District. There will be live jazz and fun every Thursday night. Fantastic Fridays

Billy Taylor Tribute

MCG Jazz and JazzMobile present a Billy Taylor Tribute at 8 p.m. at the MCG Jazz Concert Hall, 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester. This is a special tribute to musician Billy Taylor, who played the first concert on the MCG Jazz stage. The tribute will feature Gerald Clayton, Christian Sands, Houston Person, Jimmy Owens, Norman Simmons, and Melba Joyce. CABARET Hall and Comma’Dee Lane presents FIRST SUNDAYS Gospel Jazz Jam Session from 4-6 p.m. at 7928 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. Joe Torry

N-Motion Entertainment and the Afro-American Music Institute presents Joe Torry in Concert featuring the 76 Degrees West Band at 4:30 p.m. at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. Torry was the former host of “Def Comedy Jam” and has appeared in numerous films. The musical guest, 76 Degrees is one of the hottest bands to hit the stage with their mix of Jazz, Funk and R&B. Along with them will be comedian Comma’Dee, Bob Allen of KDKA as the host and keyboardist Kevin Howard. There will also be a 7:30 p.m. show.
