The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Department of Education and Community Engagement presents its Gallery Crawl from 5:30-9 p.m. This is a lively arts open house showcasing various artists and activities at various locations throughout the Cultural District. Funky Turns 40

ToonSeum presents “Funky Turns 40: The Black Character Revolution” at 945 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. This is an exhibit celebrating the legacy of the first wave of positive Black animated characters of the 1970s. Some of the featured characters are Fat Albert, the Jackson Five, the Harlem Globetrotters and more. The exhibit will run through March 10. Also after the Gallery Crawl, there will be a ‘70s party, which will include a screening of the classic cartoons, the best and worst dressed ‘70s outfit and classic funk music from DJ Orlando BusCrates Marshall. Class Pictures

Silver Eye Center for Photography presents “Class Pictures: Photographs by Dawoud Bey” from 12-6 p.m. at 1015 E. Carson St., South Side. Bey has been creating striking, large-scale portraits of students at high schools throughout the country and brings 27 of those images depicting youths from a wide economic, social and ethnic spectrum.
