At one time women were not allowed in the pulpit but all that has been changing the past few years, and leading the way in Pittsburgh has been Rev. Brenda J. Gregg.

2010 brought many things for Rev. Gregg; her non-profit organization, Project Destiny grew, she was the recipient of the Pittsburgh branch NAACP Pastor of the Year award; and was appointment to a new position. But she left it all to come back to Pittsburgh to do what God has called her to do.
In October 2010 at the Third District Planning meeting, Rev. Gregg was appointed to Presiding Elder of the Ohio Conference’s Springfield/Xenia District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
However, Rev. Gregg followed her heart back to Pittsburgh where she continues to work as the executive director of Project Destiny Inc., which she also founded, and now pastors Destiny of Faith Church, a non-denominational church with traditional foundations that she established in 2011, after many years of serving in the AME church.
As the Presiding Elder, Rev. Gregg supervised 18 churches.
