MARCH 8—Sustainable Pittsburgh’s Champions for Sustainability will host its Sustainable Healthcare Series: Improving the Environment from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Regional Learning Alliance, 850 Cranberry Woods Dr., Cranberry Township. The topic is “Healthcare Sustainability: Product Purchasing and Service Procurement.” Guests will learn about the latest strategies for engaging supply chains in the healthcare industry from the perspective of sustainability. Gary Cohen, executive director of Health Care without Harm, will give the keynote address and there will be a panel discussion. There will also be a webinar format available. Tax Workshop
MARCH 13—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host a Special Small Business Tax Workshop from 11:30-1:30 p.m. at the Regional Enterprise Tower, 23rd floor, 425 Sixth Ave., Downtown. Carol MacPhail, a former partner of Deloitte Tax LLP, will facilitate the workshop where individuals will receive an overview of business taxes for small business owners and self-employed individuals to understand their tax rights, responsibilities and Act 32. MARCH 16—The African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The featured guest for the morning will be Richard Fitzgerald, the Chief Executive of Allegheny County, and he will discuss his plans for the county. MARCH 19—Chatham University’s Center for Women Entrepreneurship and PNC will host a “Small Business Fraud” Workshop from 5:30-6:15 p.m. at James Laughlin Music Hall, Woodland Rd., Shadyside. This is a workshop by PNC on what businesses need to know on an issue that is becoming more common. MARCH 24—SCORE Pittsburgh will host its Small Business Basics from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at PNC-YMCA, 2nd floor, 226 Fifth Ave., Downtown. This workshop, which will be presented by professionals, helps new businesses get off to the right start by covering business plan development, record keeping, taxes, financing, marketing and legal aspects.
