Harris Exhibition

The Carnegie Museum of Art presents “Teenie Harris, Photographer: An American Story” at the museum’s Heinz Galleries, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This is an exhibit about famous photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris and features thousands of his classic and historic photos. There will also be life size projections combined with a newly commissioned jazz soundtrack. The exhibit will run through April 7, 2012. For more information, visit www.cmoa.org.

Josh Gibson Exhibit

The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents Josh Gibson: Negro League Legend at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. This is an educational exhibit that features a 100-year timeline and photographs of Negro League baseball player Josh Gibson. It will run through June 30 and is free and open to the public. Music Festival

Haiti:H20 presents the Chante Music Festival from 4:30-10 p.m. at the Church of Ascension, 4729 Ellsworth Ave., Oakland. This is an event to raise funds for the ongoing work in Haiti due to destruction from the major earthquake. There will be various performances from local acts, a silent auction and several visual arts performances. Tickets are $10-$30. Preservation Hall Jazz Band

MCG Jazz presents the Preservation Hall Jazz Band at 8 p.m. at the MCG Jazz Concert Hall, 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester. The band gets its name from the famous Preservation Hall, a music venue in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. This band has taken its art form of New Orleans Jazz worldwide.
