Hubber Lee Starks Hatch, Hubbie, as she is affectionately known, was born in Griffin, Ga. on March 3, 1912. Hubbie attended the Hosanna Church School in Spalding, Ga. and was employed for many years as a laundry worker. Although she never had any children of her own, Hubbie was always the one everyone called on for a caretaker. Her fondness for care giving and love of children is praised by all who know her.

Hubbie eventually migrated to Detroit, where she resided with family members and then on to Pittsburgh. She became employed as a domestic and served for close to 50 years. During this time, she met and married her late husband, Thomas L. Hatch, they were married for more than 50 years when Hatch passed in 2000.She became involved with the Lemington Senior Center where she is known and loved by all. Hubbie has a host of friends and relatives in Georgia as well as Pittsburgh.
