Dress for Success reaches 10,000

Dress for Success Pittsburgh is the region’s premiere one-stop resource for low-income women in their quest for employment and economic stability for themselves and their families. As the area and the state still struggle with unemployment issues, especially among low-income and minority populations, the services provided by Dress for Success Pittsburgh are more important than ever. DFSP breaks the cycle of poverty and dependence and provides the tools women need to secure and retain meaningful employment.

Dress for Success Pittsburgh opened its doors in 2005, serving 69 women in its inaugural year. DFSP is proud to announce that it has now served its 10,000th client in February. The Pittsburgh affiliate has grown from an office located in a church basement in 2005 to a regional organization with three offices covering five counties—Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland—serving more than 3,000 women last year.

Dress for Success Pittsburgh provides clients with a network of support, practical information, instruction and inspiration to help women gain and maintain employment. While we are best known for providing suits and professional clothing to women, it is our employment assistance and job retention programs that are the keystones of our growth and success.
