County’s Economic Health

APRIL 19—The Executive Women’s Council of Pittsburgh will host Allegheny County’s Economic Health” with Rich Fitzgerald at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. This is an opportunity to ask questions and find out from Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, his vision for where the county is going, his plans for inclusive management and diversity initiatives, and more. PowerBreakfast

APRIL 20—The African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The featured guest for the morning will be the President and CEO of West Penn Hospital Duke Rupert and he will discuss the development of the hospital and its opportunities for procurement. QuickBooks Workshop

APRIL 20—The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center will host QuickBooks: Advanced from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the University’s Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. This workshop will help individuals to become more knowledgeable with QuickBooks, the number one management and accounting tool utilized by start-ups and small business entrepreneurs. Topics that will be discussed include inventory, sales tax, payroll, business credit cards and more. This is a workshop for Windows users only. Registration is requested and the cost is $45. Free Career Training

APRIL 21—The Community College of Allegheny County, the Hill House Association and the Hill Community Development Corporation will host a free Career Training Information Session from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium, 1825 Centre Ave., Hill District. This is an informational session about a new federally funded program designed to provide free career training in the trades, health care and energy sectors.
