Anniversary Celebration

APRIL 25—Payne Chapel AME Church, 601 Priscilla Ave., Duquesne, will host its 120th Anniversary Celebration at 7 p.m. Through April 29, Payne will celebrate its anniversary with a week of events featuring guest speakers, which includes Rev. Dr. William Curtis, Rev. Geoffrey Tate II, Rev. Dr. Lorraine Williams and more. There will be a banquet on April 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Monroeville and worship services on April 29 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Dennis Dickerson and at 4 p.m. with Rev. Strong Girl Workshop

APRIL 28—Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 90 Port Perry Rd., North Versailles, will host a Strong Girl Workshop from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This is a workshop for girls ages 13-18 to mentor and encourage young girls to be strong in faith. Presenters will be Denise Baker, Minister Theresa Hunt, Minister Dionne Edmonds, Edith Humphries, Amanda Baker and Rev. Barbara Gunn. There will also be a panel discussion with Rev. Women’s Conference

APRIL 28—The Women’s Ministry of St. James Baptist Church, 7800 Bennett St., Homewood, will host Women of Strength and Courage from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be several workshops, plus lunch. Also, on April 29, there will be a special worship service at 3:30 p.m. with Elder Ellen Carter, along with her choir and congregation. The cost for Saturday is $10. Women’s Hat Tea

APRIL 28—Sisters In Sync will host its “I Don’t Look Like What I’ve Been Through” Women’s Hat Tea at 12 p.m. at Missionary Temple Ministries, 238 Penn Circle Ext., East Liberty. Evangelist Marie Lee will be the guest speaker, along with psalmist Pastor Deborah Moncrief and creative dancer Sis. Ryan Kirkland. There will be gifts, vendors, surprises and more. All are welcomed.
