A manager who had noticed the vehicle in the parking lot for an extensive period of time reportedly discovered her body. Foul play had not been suspected, but the coroner’s report has not been released as of yet.

Hickerson’s family had been concerned about her disappearance because she had received a double organ transplant last year and was on anti-rejection medication and appeared to not have her medication with her. She had also been suffering from depression.

Hickerson was born April 26, 1969 to the late Rev. Charles Hickerson and Delores Hickerson. She is a 1987 graduate of the Rochester Area School District and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh where she majored in Religious Studies, minored in Black Studies and received a certificate in East Asian Studies. She also received a Master of Divinity degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and was currently pursuing a master’s degree at West Virginia University.

Hickerson will be laid out at Second Baptist Church, 453 Irvin Ave., in Rochester, Pa. The viewing will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with the funeral immediately following at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center on Hamilton Avenue in East Liberty.
