JUNE 13—The Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania will host a Brown Bag Lunch Series from 12- 1p.m. at 1650 Main St., Sharpsburg. Panel Discussion

JUNE 14—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host their Business Program Series at 12:15 p.m. at the Downtown & Business branch, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic is “Employment Resources for Jobs in the Pittsburgh Area.” Eric Pferdekamper, site administrator for the Downtown CareerLinks, will discuss how CareerLinks can help one maximize their chances of gaining employment. Boosting Profits

JUNE 14—The Center for Green Industries and Sustainable Business Growth of the Small Business Development Center of Duquesne University will host “Boosting Profits through Green Certifications: Understanding the Advantages and Process” from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the university’s Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The seminar will explore the benefits of acquiring certifications for building operations that are “environmentally friendly.” There will also be a discussion on the reasons why businesses opt for certain certifications and an explanation on the process for obtaining certifications. PowerBreakfast

JUNE 15—The African-American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The featured guest for the morning will be Steve Bland, CEO of Port Authority of Allegheny County, will discuss the many changes and plans for public transportation and the impact on one’s workforce. JUNE 20—The MWDBE Governmental Committee will host its Small Business Outreach and One-On-One Mentoring Conference at 2 p.m. at the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania, 337 Fourth Ave., Downtown. This will be an afternoon of technical assistance and financial opportunities to develop and enhance one’s business capacity to fill-in some of the gaps. June 22—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host a Networking Mixer at The Children’s Home, 5324 Penn Ave., Friendship. Connie Bach will be the host of this indoor and outdoor mixer. There will also be a members’ orientation June 26 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Regional Enterprise, Downtown.
