(NNPA)—Dear Gwendolyn:
I have been married for two years. My husband and I met on a cruise. Four months later, we married. We didn’t have a wedding. We were married by the Justice of the Peace at the courthouse. Immediately, we realized it may have been a mistake.
This is the problem: My husband has an identical twin brother. I mean identical. One night when his brother came to visit, he and my husband had a huge fight—not verbal, but physical. It was bad. I could not understand what it was about. Gwendolyn, I think I may have spent my wedding night with his brother. I cannot tell them apart.—Betty
Dear Betty:
Yes, you can. First of all, the two of you married too soon. There is no reason for meeting someone and getting married four months later. Love can wait and whatever problems the two of you encounter, you brought it on yourself. It is understandable you knew him briefly, but come on now Betty, even after a four month courtship, his voice or something should have distinguished your husband from his identical twin brother.
I suggest you need to approach both of them at the same time to find out what the altercation was about. You need to know. And, hopefully, it is not what you are thinking. I also suggest that you put some type of ‘mark’ on his body. The Q-dogs wear a scar and maybe you can talk your husband into wearing something similar—maybe on his wrist. That way, you would not have to undress him to decide if it is your husband or his identical twin brother. This is a serious situation. Hurry and get it straight, or hurry and go back to being single.
